Restaurant Recommendation in Ponta do Sol:
Gato Preto: Cape Verdean cuisine with Italian influence. Live Music on Thu and Sun.

Calheta: Fusion cuisine with French influence. Daily live music.

Water: Please do not drink water from the tap. However, for brushing your teeth there is no risk. On Cape Verde you can expect electricity or water failure from time to time.

TAP Portugal flies frequently from Lisbon to São Vicente Island. From there you can take a taxi to Mindelo port and catch a ferry to Santo Antão (Porto Novo). The ferries are departing twice per day from Mindelo (normally in the morning and one in the afternoon) to Porto Novo. The ride takes around one hour.

Other airlines are Transavia (from Paris) that usually flies once per week to Mindelo, TUI Fly from Amsterdam (normally twice per week) and Binter Cabo Verde that connects the islands with each other.

Upon arrival in Porto Novo you can either catch a private transfer (send us an email in advance and we are happy to support you with the organization) or look out for one of the many “aluguer” drivers with a plate “Ponta do Sol”.  These are collective taxis that connect all villages throughout the island with each other and fares are mostly very cheap. However, you have to bring some time as also here the “no stress” policy applies and a detour is not uncommon. When you arrive in Ponta do Sol just ask for Música do Mar and they will drop you directly in front of us!

Water on Cape Verde is a very precious and rare gift! Please treat it thriftily!

We are also happy, if you take some time to write something in our Guestbook or drop us a rating on TripAdvisor after returning home. THANK YOU! OBRIGADA!
